This is my second art I made with GIMP. It looks nice to me, maybe I just got lucky.When I try to create a portrait or a character I don't usually go for perfection. For me imperfection is much more realistic and is much more beautiful, Maybe I really do believe in the saying "Nobody's perfect".
Dodge or burn tool and the Galaxy Brushes are one of GIMP's amazing features that i've used to create a character that will look like this.
